Despite some states opening up more and more, social distancing is still a major component to daily life across the United States – especially for the most vulnerable populations. In uncertain times, the physical connection with others can lessen stress and anxiety. “There is reassurance that comes from having contact with other people, and without it, many elderly may be left feeling scared or alone during this time,” said geriatrician Allison Moser Mays.
